As this is began when the Beatles were around in the 1960's, and no it wasn't the Beatles and they did in a way was helping out another band sometime in the summer of 1967?
When the Beatles released The Sgt. Peppers album,
they had loaned there instruments to the band Pretty Things during that summer and it was the Pretty Things that came with the idea for a rock opera album?
In the year 1968 the Pretty Things released this rock opera album one year before the Who's Tommy album that was released in the year of 1969. The name of that album from the Pretty Things is Called "SF So rrow",
as the whole story behind this rock opera is a whole lot better than Tommy and so the Who got the idea from this album to create the Tommy album in the year of 1969.
Checking out the Pretty Things SF Sorrow is so great with excellent music to the whole story, that the Who ended up getting more media to back the Tommy album and so SF Sorrow kind of got this album out without much media to cover it. Well those same band members are still around today with the original members of The Pretty Things that started back in the 1960's, as some of the band members are now in there 70's and if you like to see a good concert I would tell you to go see them before they decide to stop touring.
